Angels and Demons book and movie review

Angels and Demons

I began seeing previews for the movie quite a few months back. It has been grabbing my attention and the closer it came to the theaters, the more I wanted to know what it was about, so I went and picked up a copy of the book.

From the very beginning, it had me hooked. The plot behind the story was the ulimate destruction of Vatican City by a historical underground society of the enlightened elite known as the Illuminati through a new technology known as antimatter. Having been lost for centuries, and in this day questioned as truth or fiction, the group rises to defend their stance on the topics of religion and science.

The Illuminati believed that science and religion go hand in hand - that many of the words written in the bible are proven by science. However, religion, and specifically the Roman Catholic Church, has always claimed science as blasphemy, that it is only God behind it all. With that as the basic introduction to the plot, throw in some advanced physics, explosives and end of the religious world as we know it scenarios, it makes for one great experience!

For those of you who have read the book but haven't seen the movie, let me warn you that the it is not nearly as good as the book. Overall, the book was one of the best I've ever read but the movie didn't live up to my expectations. I don't want to spoil the whole thing for you but now that I've given you some juicy details, buy the book or watch it on the screen!
