Petroleum prices are fixed
It just hit me the other day - oil is down to $105 a barrel. This is a very good thing because back on July 11th, oil was at it's highest in history at a record of $147.27 a barrel. Remember when gas was well over $4 a gallon? Everyone noticed a price like that and you saw a decline in daily and holiday travel. Now that it is back under $4, people seem to have forgotten that it is still high. Although the drop in price seems to make things better, they are from from what they should be.
As the price of oil jumped, the price of gas went right along with it. However, since oil has dropped $42 a barrel, why aren't we seeing $3 gas? I know why: they want to make as much from us as possible while they can. Cha ching, bada bing!
How long can we allow big oil to go on like this? How long can I continue paying the government an average of 47 cents per gallon on top of everything else? Who are we to go to for answers?

The reason your still paying $3.74 a gallon is because when oil was at $147 a barrel, the gas companies had to buy it at that rate so they must sell it a a higher price to cover their expenses. If oil stays at $105 a barrel for a substaintial amount of time, then we will see a big drop in gas prices. But usually something happens either it be hurricanes, war, terrorism, sabotage or something that keeps oil high. Most countries like Russia, China, Iran, Venezuala and terrorists from all over the world try and distrupt oil supply so that it does economic damage to our country.
Yeah I know. You need to watch Zeitgeist - The Movie. It talks about how the government initiates war and attacks it's own to generate fear and the need for security among the people.
Scott, can you say "propaganda"? Getting information from slanted conspiracists is not a very accurate or reliable way to know things. Burl was right, now the prices are low. And OPEC is mad about it! Go figure.
