Second amendment at risk
It appears that Washington DC citizens have not been able to excersise their 2nd ammendment freedom until the supreme court overruled a ban today. It was a five to four decision which makes this threat even more of a reality in the future. How American is it to have a small group of people change what has been for centuries? Who do these people think they are?
I believe that I should have the right to shoot someone if my family's lives are in danger. If someone breaks into my house to steal from me, I will be there to secure my fortress. I will not lose mental capacity and snap - going on a shooting spree.
Everyday my friend you and I lose more and more rights. Soon, it will get to the point where our own homes will be invaded and will be forced to comply with what the rulers of the world decide that day. This is becoming more and more of a problem. From the ability to protect myself with a weapon to freedom of speech, one day man will be completely confined so that he can no longer make decisions for himself in fear of being punished. Also the fear of being considered a terrorist lies in the minds of some people. If people do not like what the government does are we terrorists for wanting change even if it means getting rid of internal operations?
The constitution clearly states that if anytime the majority of the people agree and find themselves in the hands of the government, they can overthrow it and start a new one based on the interests of all people. So what does this mean for us? The government knows this. I feel they are trying to dictate what we do so they always remain in charge. Maybe it is just me, but it seems as if they have all taken the law into their own hands. When do we get a say?
