Take the time to do it right

The Strategy

I remember my first job right after college. The anticipation of what the day would hold was extreme - I loved what I did. Each day I'd get there 20 minutes early due to the excitement of using the talents I've waited to unleash all my life. As time continued on, the more jobs I completed in shorter amounts of time. I found myself doing more than I ever thought possible but never understanding how I did it. Life was great until I realized I was being rushed into completing a task that should take much more time to accomplish. Once I realized it was all about quantity instead of quality, I fell out of love.

When I started my own business, I regained the love I lost from the fast paced corporate race. I took the time to do it right and wouldn't move on until I was completely satisfied with the work of my hands. This, is what creates success and it is what is lacking in today's world. Whether it be building online website properties or creating an idea for one, if it has to do with writing a letter or speaking to someone face to face, the personal aspect of quality has been lost.

The world follows this path quite well - there is nothing easier than going with the flow. The government patches up problems instead of taking the time to solve them completely, and right the first time. At the same time, people follow this lead and press for instant change. Ideas are formed everyday, thoughts and opinions that could change the world forever - our downfall is rushing into them way too quickly.

Everything is complex. Take a drop of water for example - while we may only see the drop as a whole, an entirely different world can be found when looking at it under a microscope. One drop contains a lot of information. It is made up of sub atomic particles that make up atomic elements, and atoms of different substances combine to create molecules. Isn't it funny that something so simple can be so complicated? While we see the simplicity of this, there is a completely different story going on behind the scenes.

Everyone wants to be first, but sometimes it is the one who is last that wins. Something might seem easy at the time, but time will tell if it will last. The bottom line and complete truth to this - we can continue working on it forever or we can work on it to last forever.

I will never stop coming back to this site. You know with my business I get a lot of work and I try to do the very best on each and every job as my business is referral based, so it's a must anyways. With this piece you have written, it gives me the jump I need of energy to continue and devote more time/effort to those clients I might be starting to devote less attention and personal quality to.

I think a lot of people have lost this attention to detail, Sam. Part of the reason we win a client or get that full time job we were after was due to our ambition and how much we cared about the success of it. Thanks for the great comment. I'm glad to have touched someone!
