A new year for a new world

It's a new year! 2009 to be exact!

Is it me or is the whole world going crazy all at once? 2008 held many tragedies such as natural disasters, real estate, insurance and financial turmoil and the current automotive fiasco. Will 2009 be any better? History has proven itself to be a work of art - civilizations have risen and fallen, financial markets gain and lose and the earth changes itself because of man's need for luxury. The bible tells us that "there has been nothing done under the sun that wasn't done before", so will tomorrow really be news to us?

A voice was growing in me all of 2008 that said trouble was coming - but I could never put my finger on what it was. Once I first felt the feeling, the book 2008 God's Final Witness supernatually crossed my path one day while browsing the web that helped confirm some of these gut instincts. Now that things are unfolding before my eyes, I can truthfully claim that all that was written appears to be taking place as promised and now is the time to begin seeking God before it is too late. He will come like a thief in the night and many will never expect it. No matter what happens here on earth, those who love the Lord will not worry. The world will fall apart around us. It is the fulfillment of His promise to the sinners that was done so they may believe, repent and bear witness - it is time to stop running from the truth.

There will be more signs in 2009 and many will be saved. The world will continue to grow and expand but in the end will be used inapropriately as it has been since the beginning - to obtain money and power over the weak.

2009 will be a faith confirming year... just wait and see!

I came upon that book back in 2006, I think, 2007. The writer claims to be one of the two witnesses. He also claims that the "true church" was/is the "Worldwide Church of God" (founded by Herbert W. Armstrong). As wild as some of his teachings were, he did raise our consciousness to the end times. However, the "prophet" who wrote this book goes far to the extreme. Armstrong held tenaciously to the trinity, a doctrine this writer denies. He builds, instead, a doctrine of a "godhood" he calls Elohim. All true believers, he said, will join this Elohim, of whom Jesus was the first. Armstrong's son, Garner Ted, eventually agreed that the rest of Christianity was largely OK, but this writer, Ronald Weinland, holds that to have been the great apostasy (First seal, 1994). The true church to him is dwindling to the remnant that will fulfill the 144,000 true believers of all history. If you believe anything different about God than what his "prophecy" has revealed, then you are wrong (p.143)! As it turns out, 2008 WAS a bad year. And it MAY be a warning. But that is as far as I will go in following Mr. Weinland's predictions.

I started reading this book a acouple days ago and it is kinda shocking how far from the christian bible many of his chapters stray. An interesting read none the less.
